For much of the time working on my PhD project, I've kept accurate records of what was attempted for each sample, and had been keeping a record within the thesis for most of it. My advisor did tell me, on more than one occasion, that there is no need to include every sample in the text of the thesis, just report the ones which work, and if I want I can put the others into an appendix. Listening to him I'd already not included the ones which really didn't work, but I did have a bunch of samples reports whcih only sort of don't work. Not any more. With the rush to finish it was *much* easier to delete those samples than to do the requisite edits and making their figures camera-ready. As a result Chapter two is now shorter by ~3000 words, and references to 20 figures have been deleted. That covers the first section of the chapter, which addresses the pressure/temperature results for the peak metamorphic episode. Still to go: the part addressing the formation of the garnet cores, and then the other three chapters. Time remaining: one week. Worried? Sometimes. When that happens, I do more yoga. It will all be good. I can do this. I'm getting on that plane on the 17th no matter what, so I'd better have the thesis done, printed, and at least dropped off at the binders (though, picked back up would be way, way better--I want to see it before it goes to the examiners!) Oh, I need to get my stuff ready for shipping before I leave, too...
Why, yes, I am working more hours a day than I'm sleeping, why do you ask?
It is 07:30, time for a walk--my legs are sore from too much sitting. Then I can decide if it is time for more work, or if I can sleep yet...

The other day, he asked me about your thesis. But it came out fesis -as in "How is Kareina's faeces going?" I responded that given your excellent diet, probably very satisfactory.
