A few weeks back, at the larp where I spent the weekend relaxing in the forest in Viking costume I started a nålbinding project out of some thin brown wool I had found at a second hand store. I decided that since I was dressed as a man a nice manly sort of project would be a useful bag of the size one might carry home a rabbit or two from a hunting trip. I worked on the bag that weekend, and then didn't touch it again till this weekend while at the folk music festival in Sorsele, where it was my fidget project whilst I enjoyed lovely music.

However, when I picked it up again yesterday at our Nyckleharpa session I looked at how it had grown and realized that it might not be bag at all--perhaps it is a hat. The more I worked on it yesterday, and then today at choir practice the more I realized that it really is a hat. So, during break in singing I asked the rest of the choir, and they all agreed that, yes, it is a hat. However, it isn't my hat--my head is too small for it, and it isn't my colour either. But one of the girls was willing to model it for me:



So, now I am on a quest to find the rightful owner of the hat. It took me 9.2 hours total to make, and I will entertain any reasonable offer in trade for it* (though, of course, if the rightful owner of the hat lives far away the offer needs to come with cash to cover postage).
