A productive Easter weekend
Apr. 21st, 2025 10:16 pmSaturday we did lots of house cleaning. Keldor vacuumed and mopped the upstairs floors, I stripped the bed and washed the bed clothes, swept the stairs to to the celler, and cleaned and reorganised the shelves for shoes and boots at the bottom of the stairs. I also planted some seeds in the raised planter beds. The evening was spent relaxing, as we were still recovering from that cold.
Sunday we slept in till ~8:30, and after we got up I suggested that we go out for an adventure, as it was a pretty day. He reminded me that we had m6ire to do i the way of housework, and he wanted to start that byzantine hoodie made from bath towels so we started working on that, till Þórólfr called to say he was going garage saling, and did we want to join? Yes!
So we left the barely started project covering the table, and left.
We went to four different garage sales, and at least one of us bought something at each stop. I came home with a bentwood box and a (free) extendable scraper brush for the car, which we won't need for months, but my old one broke, so I needed it, and the new one is much better quality. Keldor bougt a humidifier and a reading light. Þórólfr bought ann antique locking chest, a frame for his new scroll and a box of legos for his kids.
Then we went back to his place and made and ate dinner and then played board games (Odal joined us) till we were too tired to play more. Then home and the adventure with the cat I already blogged about.
Today was super productive. Keldor did some repairs onthe Catio, repaced the broken hinges on the lid for one of the raised planter beds, and made a frame to attach the other two arches to and then cover with that non woven fabric like to cover seedlings with. I pruned the wild roses that grow against the mailboxes (whiich stand on rhe property across the street, but since that house has been vacant for at least the three years we have lived here, I take care of that)., we prune the rose bushes, I funally cleaned the freezer Keldor’s dad gave us this winter, then emptied the old freezer, took it to the laundry room to defrost, put the new (to us), larger, freezer un its place, and pyt the food in it. I also helped Keldor with his byzantine hoodie made from bath towels, which project may be half done. He is looking forward to using it at Double Wars and Cudgel.
Tomorrow I actually have to go to work, and it is nearly 23:00, so I had better get some sleep.
