Why we need data repositories

 So, you know I am now working in the Research Data department of the Umeå University Library, right?

As part of my job training, I am sitting through a class by the Swedish Research Council on Data Managment Plans, including: how to convince researchers they need them, how to implement them, and how to follow them.

The lesson I just did ended with a link to an ad for a Data Repositry for Linguists, and it was a truly aswsome ad, so I have to share:

Oh I definitely appreciate it! I already use a bunch of different language technology things developed at UiT. (Mostly related to the Sami languages: dictionaries, keyboards, translators etc) But my teachers and I need to look at this one too. Unfortunately my direct supervisor at uni isn't much of a language technology expert, and I don't know who actually would be in the Swedish language faculty. But I bet she and our dean can point me in the right direction to find someone with more expertise in these kinds of things.
