CSN approval

When I first started studying at Durham I applied for CSN, the Swedish student financial aid, and got approved, as I hadn't used it for my earlier degrees (not having lived in Sweden), and that income nicely covered the expenses that came up during the project. Then, under the pandemic I took a leave of absence from my studies, and when I returned to study I didn't re-apply for CSN as I had remembered that the cut-off age for it was 56 or 57. I turns out that I had miss-remembered, or it has changed since I started, because the new cut-off age is 60! I applied for assistance now while I am studying at the Folkhögskola, and today got the approval! Since I didn't apply right away at the start of the year (as I didn't yet know it was an option), my first payment will be enough to cover a month's house bills. Then it will go down to a little less than half of the bills each month, which will make a big difference to how long my savings will last before I must have a job.
This makes me very happy. In fact, I just sent an email to my two teachers, and the director of the school letting them know, saying that I am even more inspired than I was to do the work needed to get good grades (so let me know if there is anything more I can do towards that goal), and thanking them for opening the school here just when I happened to need it. I closed by suggesting that if they want to add any classes in the future that I am qualified for (like geology, archaeology, or other science, or active classes like medieval dance, Swedish folk dance, or acroyoga, or crafts like medieval clothing, embroidery, or nålbinding) I would be happy to participate from the other side of the desk.
I have always said that I lead a charmed life--it has always seemed that the things I need seem to come to me just as I need them, and getting to be a student again now, and getting paid to do it simply reinforces this feeling.
