kareinaMy FB feed today is full of posts explaining that it is Pride month. I suspect that most of you have already noticed these things about me, but why not say things explicitly now and then?
I, like many others, don't fall into nice, easily defined categories, and certainly not the gender "binary*" spectrum, and see no need to "identify" with any particular gender, nor to claim only a pair of pronouns, when really, all apply equally well, in different ways.
I am polyamorous (and have been since well before that term was invented), and the even more recent term "demi-sexual" is a fairly good match, given that I don't find people physically attractive unless I love them, but if I do love them, I don't care what sort of body they have, if the love is returned, and they find me physically attractive then I will almost certainly** find them attractive.
Not only am I rather atypical compared to the traditional definitions and patterns that the media and popular culture suggests we "should" fall into, I am also supportive of all of my friends who also don't quite fit that pattern, and encourage you to define yourself in whatever way feels right to you.
Furthermore, I also support the three or four of you out there who do fall into the nice, neat, easily defined categories that popular culture defines as ideals. There is nothing wrong with fitting in now and then, either, if it makes you happy.
