Today I continued deleting the new-extraneous text from the thesis explaining what didn't work and replaced it with the working results. As a result my thesis is another 59 words shorter than when last I did a word count (Saturday), but they are much happier words! I also started doing figures for the one sample for which I'd never made figures (just had bright pink highlighted text saying "create" figure, so now I have six new figures and tables. :-)

In addition to uni stuff, I made a couple of apple pies for [livejournal.com profile] baronsnorri, who had some apples which had been taking up space in the fridge, made myself some really yummy green sauce (this time containing spinach and bok choy steamed then run through a blender with some avocado, ricotta, fetta, and spices) and home-made egg noodles, found an SCA person on livejournal who graduated from a school in Minnesota which is looking for a one-year replacement teacher in the geology department. Based upon their comments, I may just apply for that one too. Sounds like a good, small, school of the sort I'd enjoy, even if it is located in an area wherein the glaciers absconded with all of the topography. For one year I could probably survive without mountains. Perhaps.

Carleton is a top-tier liberal arts college -- think of it as a slightly smaller version of, say, Amherst or Oberlin. I have a couple friends who went there and really really loved it. Great learning environment, teaching-focused. And it's just outside Minneapolis which, I'm told by some warm-climate friends who spent a year there, is actually a pretty fun city. You should *totally* apply for it! :-)
