I pretty much never draw

I don't remember the last time I tried, but it would have been years ago. I don't think I have ever actually tried to draw a face before. Tonight I had things I should have been doing, but instead noticed that there is a "sketch pad" program on my new(ish) computer that I had never looked at before. So I opened it, and started playing, not expecting to play long. After a bit I opened the black and white photo of my dad as a young man:



(Ignore the colour one of me which is with it, it isn't relevant for this post.)

While looking at that, zoomed in on it closely, I attempted to draw just his eye. One thing led to another, and now there is an entire quadrant of his face in a drawing, that is close enough to the model that I am not even embarrassed to show it here:

Ok, I know I said to ignore the photo of me, but I can't help but compare he and I again. I have mom's ears, but I so got dad's eyes and lips.
