the first step is often the hardest

today's progress report is mostly contained in my other blog, where I explain the trials and tribulations involved with re-starting a long neglected project.

However, I can also state that my exercise log for the month is looking much better. Since I would far rather walk forty-five minutes than wait five for a buss I put my money where my mouth is today and did the 1.5 hour walk to uni from here, rather than catching one bus to the city center and then transferring to another to get to uni. The walk in was fine, but I noticed my legs protesting a bit for the walk home, since I have not done so many hours walking in one day in quite a while.

Heck, while long walks were normal for me when last I lived in Tassie, I rarely did them while in Milan--everything I needed was located within about a 35 minute walk, and the city wasn't inviting enough to walk just to be walking--I normally walked to accomplish needed errands. I haven't needed to walk much at all in Luleå--I take my trike if I am on my own, or if we are both going somewhere it is either within a ten minute walk (and we do) or it is far enough to be worth taking the car (and we do).

Now I am tired and need to do my yoga before getting a nap and getting up early enough to speak with my beloved when he gets off of work. Darn different time zones, anyway.

Oh, I almost forgot to share my good news: I won't need to wait the extra three weeks after my visa is approved for my resident card to arrive--the letter saying the visa is approved is good enough to get into the country!

Thanks! We hope that will follow soon--He finished filling in all of the details on the paperwork he needs to turn in, confirming that yes, he thinks we have a relationship, too. They only got that that form to him on Monday, and he had it done before going to bed that night. Sadly, their office isn't open again till Wednesday, so he will hand-deliver it then, as it will still be faster than posting it.
