I am told that the unseasonably hot weather Hobart has been having has come to us from South Australia. As far as I am concerned, it can have it back! I am living in Tasmania because it tends to be mild down here. Indeed, many folk from the mainland insist that it is downright cold here. But the last few days the weather has been draining! I find myself very low energy, wanting to lounge in the cooler parts of the house, away from the computer and the extra warmth it generates (without which I am unable to do any of my uni work, so this is a problem). And it isn't even really that hot compared to some places! The thermometer in the kitchen says that it only got up to about 28 C (82 F) inside today, but it is still more than enough to zap my motivation right out!

So.. is it humid heat like the midwest and southern states of U.S. or is it somewhat dry heat of say... Las Vegas or something...

If its dry heat... I'd -happily- trade places with you.
Don't you guys have any fans in the house? Just air moving around could make
82 F (thank you for converting C & F btw) feel better.

Yes, we have fans, and yes,we have been using them! It has also been kind of muggy the past several days, though Friday had a *hot*, fairly strong wind blowing all day long. The worst of it is the part where it doesn't cool down enough at night. I'm accustomed to needing to bundle up if I go out for a walk after sunset. Last night I went for a walk after 10pm and wore my lightest weight skirt and a tank-top, and still got hot on the return because it was ever so slightly up hill.

Sure, other people in other areas are better able to take the heat, but *I'm* not, and it has been interfering with my ability to accomplish things!
