booking flights to beat the heat
Jul. 5th, 2010 02:55 amSince
clovis_t moved to Scotland last week and it has achieved summer heat here in Milan (30 C at 23:00) I decided that I needed to so spend a week in Edinburgh, where I accomplish more work in the cooler temps than I would manage staying here in Milan. This makes my time away from Milan this summer kind of excessive from one point of view, but probably not enough when the heat is considered. My upcoming travel:
9 to 11 July: Germany for SCA event
21 to 28 July: Scotland, where I will work and visit friends
5 to 8 Aug: Ireland to visit a friend
21 to 27 Aug: Budapest, Hungary for a geology conference
28 Aug to 3 Sept: Vienna, Austria for a geology short-course
6 to 12 Sept: the Alps for the Textile forum
13 to 15 Sept: Italian geology conference
Then no other trips yet booked for me through the end of the year. However, my mother arrives on 25 Sept and stays through 15 Oct, and she thinks we should head to Cairo to see my cousin and his family while she's here. (I'd rather go meet cousins in Sweden, Denmark, or Finland, since they've got better weather and I've not met them yet, but mom has been to those places, but neither of us has been to Egypt, so I guess we've got some negotiating to do). I also intend to go to Sweden in late November for the dance event I so enjoyed last year.
