So far today I've written 1,131 words and referenced one new figure in my thesis, which is three times the number of words than I managed to accomplish in the preceding three days. Is it then unreasonable of me to wish that the words could have been describing how beautifully the modelling predicted garnets of this compositions at such-and-such temperature and pressure, rather than a discussion of what happens if you change the starting conditions of the model this many times and how none of them actually yield good results? Sigh. There is a reason geologists publish papers discussing only one or two samples from an area and the temperatures and pressures that have been calculated for their metamorphism--often that is all the more that actually work for that area. But we can't know in advance which ones will work, so we've got to try them all.

It is only 19:00, I need a bit of a break, perhaps I'll go for a walk, perhaps I'll actually spend some time interacting with another human being, *in person*, and perhaps, if I'm inspired, I'll return to my uni work again later tonight, but if I don't, I will be certain to do so first thing tomorrow...
