is that all?
Jan. 17th, 2009 12:02 amToday started out very low energy. I was not ready to get up when
clovis_t's alarm went off. However, he had a meeting in town, and I was nearly out of muesli (you don't want to see me if I don't have my favourite breakfast available!) so it was necessary to get out of bed. The combined errands saw us home around 1pm, and I was still rather low energy, so I sort of twiddled my thumbs a bit, as you do when you are uninspired to work and feeling tired. Eventually I got smart enough to take a nap, which really helped. Once I woke up I did a quick look for potential jobs, and found the one I mentioned earlier. This, combined with the nap, served to really, really revitalize me and give me the energy to work (well, after I managed to quit bouncing with excitement). I accomplished what felt like a bit of improvement to chapter five and managed to fill in the __reference?___ blanks that have been sitting there waiting to be filled. (note: why do so many authors use a term like "Grenvillian Age" without defining it or citing a source for the term?) But, at the end of the day (it is now after midnight) the work resulted in only 58 new words for the thesis. Short of the goal by about one order of magnitude. Sigh. I need this done! It won't do me any good to find a potentially fun post-doc position, if I don't have a "doc" to be "post". Tomorrow. More work. Must see about sleeping the correct amount of time to have energy for work first thing in the day...
