hours of uni work, not much progress
Sep. 7th, 2008 12:23 amDespite spending much of the daylight hours on birthday adventures (the Lost World trail is fun--many, many boulders to scramble over--I love a hike wherin one gets to use one's hands!), I still managed to put in 7 hours of uni work today. Alas, the calculations I was attempting didn't result in any usable results. I've written up what I did, and in what manner it doesn't work, which gives 340 new words and one each new figure and table for the thesis (probably the appendix, since it didn't work). I've learned a bit on the patterns of how changing the amount of each mineral of specific composition changes isochemical section phase diagrams calculated for those minerals (remarkably little, really), but, so far, it isn't resulting in any usable temperature-pressure estimates. Tomorrow I'll go on to a new sample--six different non-useful phase diagrams for this sample in one day is quite sufficent, I think.
