stayed home to work
Aug. 30th, 2008 10:19 pmI wound up not going out to the dance after all, but decided to spend the evening working instead. I did get out for two nice walks during the day though, one with
baronsnorri up to Silver Falls, and the other with
clovis_t out to the Pipeline Path, which is just far enough from the peak to offer beautiful views of Mt. Wellington.
Today's task has been gathering up all of the figures I've created for chapter 3 and putting them into a PowerPoint file so that when I hand my advisor my thesis draft next week he will have the figures too, in one handy location, just page down to the one he wants (slid numbers match figure numbers). Alas, several times the figure was just too much for the poor computer and it said it hadn't the memory to paste it in. Sigh. 2 Gigs of RAM is, apparently, not enough! So for those few I created pdf files and put a note in the slide show saying to go look at the pdf. I have no idea if he will look at the figures or not whilst reading the thesis, but there are many, many places where the words make ever so much more sense if you look at the photo, therefore I'm going to the effort of gathering them together.
In the course of doing this, I noticed one place where I hadn't done something I could of which wouldn't take long to do, so I couldn't resist doing that one task, which netted me an additional 489 words and one new table for the thesis.
Given that I'm not yet done with this chapter, it is a darn good thing I started the process as early as I did!
