I had a meeting with my advisor on Friday to discuss my progress with my thesis write-up, and what more I need to be doing. As always seems to happen, I left feeling inspired and ready to really push to get this thing accomplished. On the same day I also managed to find a solution to the screen-shaking-cursor moving problem that had been plaguing my Word-EndNote interactions. As a result of both of the above, I've broken the document down into separate documents for each chapter of the thesis, and revised my spreadsheet for tracking my progress to count my average words per day starting now. I've also decided to report my progress each day here, not because I think my friends really want to know how many words I'm writing each day, but because if I have to report "none" in a public place like this, I shall be embarrassed, and that is likely to help me stay motivated to keep working!
So, in just under six hours of actual working time today (I take frequent, short, breaks for food, exercise, checking in with loved ones in person or on line which are not counted), I managed to write 475 words about the rocks of the Collingwood River area and create four figures/tables to illustrate things to which the words refer.
Time to go for one more short walk, do my yoga with
clovis_t and get to bed!
