books read this year
Apr. 11th, 2008 11:05 amI am reading for pleasure way less since staring my PhD project than I've ever done before.
1) L. M. Montgomery: Anne of Windy Poplars (re-read--out loud to a friend)
2) Todd & Anne McCaffery: Dragon Fire (first time)
3) J. K. Rowling: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (re-read)
4) L. M. Montgomery: Anne's House of Dreams (re-read--out loud to a friend)
5) David P Barash: The myth of monogamy (first time)
6) Marion Zimmer Bradley: Thendara House (re-read)
7) L. M. Montgomery: Rainbow Valley (re-read)
8) Frank S. Spear: Metamorphic phase equilibria and pressure-temperature-time paths
9) Douglas Adams: Last Chance to See (re-read)
10) Eve Curie: Marie Curie (first time, but I've read the children's version 100's of times!)
11) L. M. Montgomery: Rilla of Ingleside (re-read--out loud to a friend)
12)Terry Dart My Memories of Me; being the incredibly biased recollections of how I have lived my life re-read10) Nan Chauncy: Devil's Hill (first time)
13) Sherri S. Tepper: A Plague of Angels (first time)
14) Katherine Kurtz: Deryni Tales (re-read)
Prior to starting this project, I didn't keep records of my reading, but since I've been tracking what I'm doing for Uni, I've also kept track of what I've read for fun. In the second half of 2005 I read 37 books, in all of 2006 I read only 55 books, and in 2007 I managed 60, but this year, if my reading rate doesn't change, I'm on track to manage 50. The funny thing is, that although I *know* that these numbers represent a marked decrease from my previous voracious reading rate, I'm so very busy, I'm not missing it!
