The other day someone shared a link to an article that I found really encouraging. Medical science has developed a "gene replacement therapy" to help people with Sickel Cell Amenia. The person interviewd in the article had spent most of his life in pain, but, after the treatment, he was enjoying pain-free days and had more energy than he has ever had before and was looking forward to accomplishing so much more with his life. If we, the people of this planet, all agreed that the best use of our resources was to improve the health, wellbing, and quality of life of everyone on the planet, imagine what we could accomplish. In stark contrast to this is the disturbing news reports of world governments wasting their resources on displays of milatary might and prowess, destroying the "milatary targets" of other countries, and killing many individuals in the process. There is so much good potential in our species--if we wanted to we could do so much to make life better for all. Please, all governments, just stop with the toxic behaviour and use your powers for good instead.
