Today's post may only be interesting to those of you who read Swedish or enjoy linguistics. For those of you for whom this applies, I offer you a summary of the research project I am working on, in Swedish:

Expand3D Geokemisk modellering av Kristinebergsområdet )

I composed the original English text, gave that to one of the people working in the Grant's office, who did the initial translation. I then gave that to my boss, since she cautioned me that she couldn't guarantee that the technical terms were translated correctly. My boss just gave it back, slightly modified, and it reads fine to me, but then, I know what it is supposed to be saying. There are, of course, a number of words that my spell-checker doesn't recognize, and, sadly, I have no idea if that is because it has a limited geological vocabulary (it does when working in English!), or if there are any typos in this text. So if anyone sees a place where they think they can improve upon the spelling as written, feel free to mention it in a comment.

In other news, I am getting rather close to finished with my grant proposal that has been eating my life. This is good, since the deadline is looming. With luck they will say yes, and I will continue to have an income for the four years that begins in January...
