My 12th Night adventure getting there )
Friday (including Bardic!) )

After the Bardic spent another hour or so visiting with people before heading up to my room, where I did yoga quietly enough as to not wake up my sleeping roommates.

Saturday Court & Dance Ball )

Today I got up around 08:30 and spent some time visiting with my roommates while doing my morning sit ups and push ups and re-packing my luggage into flying mode. I then hung out in the lobby visiting with folks on their way out until [livejournal.com profile] learnteach and his lady were ready to go. We had a lovely drive back to his place, through Niles Canyon. I'd never gone that way hitherto, and found it a rather pretty area. He will take me to the airport much too early in the morning, and I'll arrive in Italy on Tuesday morning, having lost a number of hours to time-zone changes.

I nearly forgot to mention one of the highlights of the final court of the outgoing royals. [livejournal.com profile] duke_flieg came forward to make an announcement about the West Kingdom Welcoming Committee, and when he was done Her Majesty told him that he did not have leave to depart. She then commented that while he had a lovely new undertunic on, his overtunic was ratty, and he commanded him to take it off. Which he did (with the accompaniment of much wisteling/cheering/laughter from the crowd). Then she summoned the people who had been working on the secret project, and she bid them to cloth the duke. They did, covering him with a beautiful new overtunic embellished with both hand woven edging and embroidery between the woven bits of trim, and a stunning cloak, with much embroidery, and a very, very nice haversack with lots more beautiful embroidery. Clearly, the duke is loved. Many people laboured on the set, and their efforts combined to a truly amazing result.

I much prefer to compose my own words. However, I have lost loved ones to cancer, including my father and step father, both of whom have death certificates which read "pneumonia", but neither of whom would have contracted that had they not been in the hospital being treated for cancer. Yes, I would love to see a cure. However, I fail to see how saying so on LiveJournal and Facebook will help.
