Loved the drive from Trondheim to Florø.

Wonderful two days of geology excursions--lots of really pretty high pressure metamorphic rocks here.

Haven't had internet till today.

Leave on the boat for Bergen in the morning, train to Oslo the next day, flight back to Milan the following day.

Worried that Milan will be HOT by the time we get back; wishing I could stay in Norway.

Lots of photos taken, but no time to share them, yet.

Hey - were you the one tempting me with a textile workshop in Switzerland in October? Details, if so?

Not quite--the one I know about is the Textile Forum in the Italian Alps in September. But if you hear of one in Switzerland in October, too, please share the information! (Either way, I've got crash space in Milan on your way to and/or from.)

Nope. that's the one. I just vaguely remembered fall and the Alps. :) I'm looking into it as a possibility, but not anything firm yet.

Oh, that would be so cool if you could make it! I had ever so much fun at last year's forum. This year I'll be spending the week before in Vienna for a geology short course, and visiting the delightful [livejournal.com profile] racaire1, so if you want to come over for the forum I'd recommend arriving just on time, but staying at my place for a few days after the forum (unless you want to meet me in Vienna before the forum).

Cool beans. I'll let you know how plans develop. 350 Euros seemed like a lot, but if you thought it was worthwhile, I am more inclined. Are all/most the lectures in English? My Spanish is poor at best...

It is an awful lot by SCA event standards, but cheap by academic conference standards (for Europe, at least)--most conferences I've attended over here run that much without food or lodging.

The primary language is English. Last year we had attendees who spoke German, Finnish, and French amongst themselves, but the common language for everyone was English, and all of talks were in English. We didn't have any Spanish or Italian speakers last year, but since it is in Italy this year, perhaps we will this time...
