inspiration takes time to bear fruit
Dec. 10th, 2009 10:26 pmThis morning I came up with a brilliant way to present some of the results on the poster. 11 hours and 47 minutes worth of uni work later (not counting short breaks for food or toilet use) and I've accomplished the task for one of the two compositions. Now that I've got that done, the second one should be much, much easier and faster. However, I'm *done* for the day. It is time to go home and pack--I need to leave for the airport in only 8 hours, and a nap might be nice. My poster session isn't till Thursday, so, in theory, I will be able to do the extra work and still have time to print the poster, but if not, I've got a pretty layout and design for it as it is.
Some might say this has been an odd way to celebrate my birthday, working all day, but, honestly, I've been enjoying it! I love it when science and art merge like this! I've also appreciated the many birthday greetings which have been coming in steadily all day. I feel loved.
I'll be traveling for the next month, so internet access will be variable, depending on where I am.
If you are in California--I'm there for the next week, hope to see you at Boar Hunt, or, if not, I'll be in SF for the confrence, if you've got time to meet up, contact me at the home of
tafelspitz and
j_i_m_r in the evenings. I'll be back in CA for 12th night (and a couple of days before), so if you miss me on the first trip, I may get to see you on the second).
If you are in Seattle, I'll be there from the 18th to the 20th, and again on the 5th and 6th, hope to see some of you then.
If you are in Alaska, I'll be there from the 21st to the 5th, hope to see everyone there. Thanks to the amazing generosity of a friend with frequent flyer miles she was willing to share, I'll be in Fairbanks from the 30th to the 1st, based out of Anchorage for much of the rest of it, save for trips to see family in Wasilla and Glenallen somewhere in there.
