eyes pass test
May. 27th, 2008 11:46 pmWent to my first eye exam in a decade today. I had LASIK surgery back in 1998 which corrected me from so-near-sighted-I-got-ink-on-my-nose when I read (contacts measured at -7.5 diopters) to I-don't-need-glasses-even-for-driving. But since
clovis_t was due for an exam and needed to replace his prescription sunglasses with a pair with an unbroken frame, I decided it was time to go get my eyes looked at too. Besides, I'd noticed recently that too many hours on the computer or reading make it hard for me to focus at a distance (duh!)
Apparently I do have a slight astigmatism to my eyes such that he is able to write a prescription for reading/computer glasses if I want them, but he also commented that if it were his eyes, and the difference between corrected and uncorrected were that slight, he wouldn't bother. Since
clovis_t does need new glasses as well as sunglasses, we opted not to bother for me.
It may have been a decade since I've needed glasses, but I'm still enjoying it way, way too much to want to get some now if I can continue to go without them. I did promise to take more breaks to look at something in the far distance when reading or spending time at the computer though.
Speaking of breaks--it is time to do yoga and head to bed...
