When last we left our hero she'd sent an e-mail to her co-author with the partial progress she'd done on editing a paper they've been working on. Since then she's:

Uni work:
* Finished the editing & sent it off to him, warning him that she'd only looked over it for things she could improve in terms of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and the ways in which the sentences had been put together (well, that and re-arranging some paragraphs into different order to keep methods separate from results separate from conclusions, to say nothing of the time spent on converting the list of references cited to one generated automatically by EndNote). Suggested that it should still be read over again checking to be certain that the science presented and conclusions drawn are appropriate.
* Received a reply saying that it all looks good to the co-author, and he's submitting it.
* Discovered that it doesn't matter if one first drills the center hole and then attempts to use the lathe to reduce the diameter of the MgO plugs, or if one first reduces the diameter and then attempts to drill the center hole--both are very effective ways of breaking the MgO plug.
* Heard back from the EGU confrence that my abstract was accepted as a Poster on the Tuesday afternoon.
* Heard back from the EMPG confrence saying that her abstract has been accepted as a talk for the Wednesday afternoon.
* Started making the slide show for that talk.
* Observed my boss get the mass balance calculations working in Mathmaticia for a test file
* Attempted to get her own data also working in Mathmatica and discovered many things that needed to be edited to make that goal possible. Further work is required, but it is working for simpler sorts of calculations.
* Downloaded my experiment #5
* kept reading my 1000 words of geologic literature each day (I'm now up to 68 days in a row since last I forgot).

Fun stuff
* Went out to a Chilli-Cookoff at the Marines' house at the US Embassy as a guest of the SCA family that works for the Embassy. Enjoyed the company and the music and made progress on a nålbinding project. (I didn't actually try any of the food, as the evening started after my body decided it was done eating for the day, but [livejournal.com profile] clovis_t happily tasted all 11 varieties and entered his vote for the tastiest one.)
* Spent Saturday at the home of said the SCA family visiting, making plans about what SCA events we should travel to attend, and made more progress on nålbinding projects.
* Used the uni lathe to turn a chunk of broken wood into a nice smooth tube, then created a narrow nålbinded strip to insert into the tube, thus making a needle-case which will protect the lovely hand-made iron needle I purchased at last year's textile forum.
* Spent time happily re-reading some Pern books.
* Got in a few decent walks to make up for not exercising on the days I was focused on editing.
* baked some bread, steamed an artichoke, and generally enjoyed my other meals as well.
* did my yoga daily (which goes without saying, really, since I've not missed a day since I made the decision to do it daily back in November of 2004, but it still feels wonderful, and I still love doing it.)
