Why waste paper I don't need to waste? As soon as I've got it memorized, I won't need to look at anything. There are enough trees dying for needful uses of paper.
I don't actually have a printer of my own any more--we sold our printer before moving back in with clovis_t's parents. While they have a printer, it is in his dad's office, which he prefers we don't use unless absolutly nesessary.
I'm also just plain too lazy to print to pdf, stick it on a usb stick, walk down the hall, step carefully over and around the stacks of paper on his floor, put the usb stick into his computer and then wait for the huge printer to warm up and print.
Typing up that notation actually proved very valuable to me--it helped me to *see* the pattern and symmetry of the music in ways that don't show up in sheet music, unless it happens to be set up to print with exactly eight bars, no more, no less, to a line. To do this in Noteworthy, the only way I've found is trial and error keep changing the size until you find one which works. It is also much faster for me to read the letters than the dots, and while I'm not learning the dots as fast as I would if I just tried to trust them, I am learning to play the instrument faster, and given my limited amount of time available for anything not-uni at the moment...
