As I painted it, especially the little crosses over the intersections, I thought of snowflakes. But snowflakes, being six-sided don't work so well with a pattern made from the intersection of lines parallel to a vetu (the name for the heraldic field division--the white part), so I went with the obvious pattern repeat given the shape already there.
