I didn't do my 1000 yesterday. Sigh. I came so close to reading geologic literature too--in the morning I received an e-mail that a journal article I'd ordered via document delivery (since our uni doesn't subscribe to that journal) had arrived, so I went to the web page to download it, but there was something wrong with the log-in system--I couldn't even get it to give me the form into which one types one's user name and password. So I gave up thinking I'd try again later. Then I put in long day of uni work, finally putting it down after 23:00, did my yoga and went to bed, feeling like it had been a productive day. It wasn't until this morning I realized that I'd forgotten to read my 1000 words. This makes 8 times since I set myself that goal that I've forgotten. However, it has now been over a year since setting the goal, so I suppose that only forgetting seven days out of a year isn't too bad.
In other news it looks like Harlequin will have their costumes wearable for their gig at Brookfield Vineyard this weekend. Their vocalist came over tonight and we did the hand-finishing of the final details of her over-dress (other than the bottom hem, which she should easily finish on her own before then. I am very happy with how it came out--particularly as I've tried a very different technique with the side-lacing, which seems to be effective. If I make it to their show, I'll try to get photos to share. Alas, their performance conflicts with a Folk Federation contra dance, which I'd like to attend. While it would be possible to attend both, it is a good 30 minute drive from one venue to the other, so I'd wind up missing a chunk of both if I try it...
