A week mostly at home
Nov. 14th, 2024 07:03 am I planned to work from home Monday, as I was pretty certain I wouldn't want to take the bus after 13+ hours in a car the day before. This was a wise choice. Keldor had taken thecday off, so we slept in, I did a half an hour workout with the DownDog pliaties, and then I managed to accomplish work stuff during the rest of day, but spent the evening mostly relaxing, plus a little boffer fighting training.
Tuesday I normally work in the office, because our weekly team meeting happens then. This week they moved it to Wednesday morning, which I couldn't due to a dentist appointment. I had planned on going in on Tuesday anyway, and got as far as packing my lunch and starting to walk to the bus.
But the road was icy, so I had put on my winter boots, and my backpack was heavy and the sweater I was wearing under my coat was too warm, and I was generally not enjoying the walk, so I turned around before I got to the church, and sat down to the computer in my home office at 6:30, exactly the same time I would have opened it on the bus.
I put in a full day work, and then curled up on the couch with some popcorn (with nettle butter and nutritional yeast, of course) and read for a while. Then I finally had the energy to unpack the chests from the weekend (everything else had been dealt with already Sunday evening when we got home), and I started a load of undertunics.
Pretty much directly after I started the laundry Keldor arrived home, looked at his phone, saw a message "aren't you comming to the meeting?", and asked me if I was ready to go? Go where? A planning meeting for Reengardas 30 year anniversary event this spring, which he'd forgotten to put on the calendar, and I didn't know about, as I wasn't in the group chat (I am now). The meeting was yo start in 5 minutes, a 35 minute drive away, and I wanted to be able to get the linen out of the wash and hanging directly when the machine stopped, so I suggested zoom.
That worked beautifully, we have many fun things planned for the event, and I have started a trello board to keep track of it all. And I got the clothes hung up the second tje washer stopped, so win, all around.
Wednesday morning not only did I have the dentist appointment, but Keldor had an appointment with his physical therapist, so he slept in, I woke at normal time, did a workout, and then did some work till he got up. Then I joined him for a cup of tea and walked him to his appointment, then continued on to the dentist, where I was a little early, so I got some sewing done while I waited.
The visit left my mouth sufficiently numb that I couldn't drink properly, and didn't dare try eating, so I went back to bed and slept a couple hours, before getting up and working. I didn't have the energy to work extra hours just then, so I used up a fair bit of flex time on Wednesday. I am ok woth this.
Today I will work in the office for the morning, and then head to the eye doctor at 13:00 to find out if I will be taking part in the stydy on helping glaucoma with vitamin B.
That is supposed to go for two hours, so it will be a later bus home than usual.
