Heading the wrong direction, because I can
Oct. 2nd, 2024 06:18 am Keldor and I talk on the phone every morning as he drives to work, and he normally arrives around the time I get to the bus stop to gead to my job. I have wished that there was an earlier bus I could take, so I could start work at the same time he does, and thus finish at the same time. But that is the earliest bus to come to Lövånger.
Yesterday, he saw a bus heading south as he drove in, and it was much too early to be mine, which hadn't yet left the city center. So I checked the schedule for what buses run between Skellefteå and Umeå, and the one he saw is an express buss, that stops only 4 times between the two cities (and not my village).
One of those stops is Bureå, a 25 minute drive north of our house, and it gets there at 5:45, and it is 10-15 minutes more from there to Keldor’s work, which would put him ro work about 15 minutes earlier than normal starting time.
However, yesterday's job for his company was an urgent "fix this thing that some other company installed completely wrong, as fast as
possible, which meant that he put in a 13 hour day, and there is more to do today, at a location where it is ok to start early.
Therefore, we set the alarn for 15 minutes earlier, I oacked my lunch before bed, and this morning we both hopped in the car to head north. We were so efficient that he got me to the bus stop me about 15 minutes before the bus arrived, so I had his company in my hearing aids for the rest of his drive, and then hopped on the bus.
While it is an express buss, I am, of course, on it for more total time than if I took the later one, but I will arrive at work a half an hour earlier, which means my work day will be done earlier, so I should have energy left to work on thesis corrections and pack for Höstdansen SCA event this weekend.
