Getting used to this new pattern
Sep. 26th, 2024 07:28 am Wednesday was more meetings at work to learn more of the various teams in the library and what they do. It is interesting, but I am looking forward to being able to actually do something myself.
After my final meeting for the day I looked at the bus schedule and saw that there was one in 25 minutes. So I posted to the team chat that I would "jobbar bussifrån" for the remainder of the day (my colleagues post regularly that they will "jobbar hemifrån" for the remainder of the day. I have no idea if one can also construct a word meaning "from the bus" the same way one can say "from home", but why not?) Then I pack up my backpack and the computer, walked across the street to check out the grocery store, as I hadn't seen it yet, and then arrived at the bus stop a couple of minutes before it arrived. (The store has a salad bar, with some things I would eat, so that is good to know).
It worked to work on the bus (read stuff and do a few more computer customisation tasks), and the battery was still good when I closed it more than an hour later, so that is good news. The bus had free WiFi, which is also good.
The bus reached Lövånger about 10 minutes later than the "normal" bus leaves Umeå, so my hours for the day are slightly longer than they would have bern if I had stayed in the office, which is also good.
One of the nice things of being home earlier is that it was early enough to be interested in food, so I spent som quality tome reading on the couch eating dinner, with Keldor curled up asleep on the other end, out legs entwined. It was nice.
Till my legs started cramping, so I got up, did 20 minutes pilaties and ate a banana, which solved the problem. Then it was time for the zoom laurel meeting, which we took snuggled up together on the couch in front if his computer. He designed the next knife handle for one of his unfinished blades, and I painted a border on the edge of my work computer, so I will be able to tell which is mine at meetings as so many of us use the same kind.
By bedtime I was feeling so tired I wasn't sure that I would want to stay after work today for the Uma sire crafts night. But this morning I woke with enough energy that it sounded fun, so I have clean clothes and a pillow in my pack, and have posted to their FB group asking for crash space tonight, as taking the bus home late isn't so appealing.
Now the bus is arriving at Umeå, and soon it will be my stop, so I will wish you all a good day, and ask if you have changed your routines lately, and if so, how it it going?
