making time for fitness and writing and relaxing as needed

There is still more to do on my thesis, which I need to submit in seven days, so I am still working on it every day. 45.5 hours so far this week on the thesis because I keep needing to take breaks so that my brain works enough for writing.  Some of the breaks are working out with the DownDog yoga app. Some of them are for snow shoveling, others are to curl up with a good book and forget about the thesis for a bit. The best ones are spending time with Keldor, and with my apprentice, Bjarni, who is visiting just now. B's parents are off in the Canary islands, so they decided they would rather spend the vacation time with us than stay home alone. I warned them that I would be pretty focused on writing, so they brought their books to work on their thesis, too, and some progress has been happing there as well, so that is good.

I am a little envious of Keldor, who jumped into his holiday with crafts.  One of the kitchen cupboards has had an issue since we moved in--when we washed them that one lost its paint in a few swirls of area across the entire surface, so it has had these ugly, random white swirls crossing the fake wood grain brown, and I have never liked it.  Yesterday he took that door off, sanded off the paint, gave it a base coat, and then painted the cutest little dragon on it.



He hasn't decided what else he will paint there, but I love it already.  He has also made progress on a beautiful bone handle for a knife, on a scroll blank, and a few other projects.
