I have a laser!
Apr. 24th, 2015 04:44 pmThe technician has finished putting together the laser and doing the necessary adjustments and calibrations. He also showed us how to drive the basic controls and what we will need to do to start it back up again if it sits idle for a week or so.
Next week the guy who does the training comes to show us how to get it properly working with the ICP-MS and convert the raw data into usable numbers.
My job, which has been only "do tasks tp get the lab ready to go", is about to change into "be the mad scientist who gets to shoot rocks with a laser". I think it will be fun.
Oh--and it snowed today! Only during the middle segment of my trike ride home, and none of it stuck, but the big beautiful flakes were lovely nonetheless.
