Snow for breakfast
Mar. 28th, 2015 06:31 pmWhen I got up this morning it was to a fresh layer of lovely, if a bit wet and heavy, snow. So, of course, I went out for a walk to celebrate. It was a three or four cm thick, which is enough to grab a handful now and then to nibble on as one walks, and be confident that it is clean.
There are deer tracks crossing the bottom of our property. They, like me, choose to walk along the outside edge of the forest, rather than trying to head out onto the ice. Perhaps it is still thick enough to hold weight, but given how many days in the last month have included temperatures above freezing, I wasn't inclined to test it...
