It took, of course, zero effort to talk me into the road trip. Mountains? Snow? I am in! Doubly so after the abysmal weather we have had since my birthday, when it warmed up enough to rain. It has stayed warm, with occasional rain, on the days since, and pretty much all of the snow that had survived so far had melted, making the world a rather dark and dismissal place.
To be fair, when we woke up this morning it was snowing, and a couple of cm had accumulated, so the world was pretty again. However, it was really wet, and had changed to rain as we started driving to his dad's, and they hadn't had any snow at their house (and even more had melted there--they have none at all left.
But very soon after we started driving inland we reached an area that had snow, and the rest of the drive was beautiful.
We got here around 13:00, which was enough before sunset for me to borrow their kick sled and go for a short adventure while they did stuff with the satellite dish.
We have the evening and tomorrow morning to relax here before heading back to town.
