I started to type up a post with today's progress report (there was some!) for my uni work, but it got technical fairly quickly, so I opted to put it on my geology blog instead.
In other news, I got to chat with my mother and sister on skype today, which was really nice. We don't make time to talk near often enough.
I haven't mentioned the weather in days. That is because I don't like to complain. However, it has gone one long enough that a tiny bit of whining is in order. Yes, that is correct: it is still warm here, and my snow has melted lots and lots. As in parts of our yard has no snow at all. Others have standing water surrounded by snow. I have never seen such appalling weather in my life--we are getting days in a row above zero (Celsius), and I don't like it. Such warm temps are all well and fine further south, but I am at about 65.6 degrees north! Each time it has cooled off I have been hopeful that winter would really set in and we wouldn't get any more rain till spring, and I have been disappointed. Now solstice has come and gone, so it will just get lighter every day (yah, I know, everyone else likes that part, but I love my winter night sky, and would like it to be a bit darker for a bit longer (in the sky, that is--I want there to be snow on the ground so that everything down here is nice and white and bright).
