Early last week I got a FB message from one of my cousins in Finland, wondering if he could come visit late in the week or early the following one. I, of course, encouraged him to come, but sooner rather than later, since I wouldn't be home the following week. Therefore he arrived on Saturday morning and spent the weekend with us. How do I entertain family when they visit? Well, we fed him homade pizza and a variety of baked goods, let him help with earth cellar building, and, on Sunday, took him to Storeforsen, Europe's largest rapids, where we ate wild blueberries.

I have enjoyed all of my trips to Storeforsen, but this one was the most fun, since we not only hiked on the trails and scrambled over the rocks, but we also went for a swim in one of the gently moving side branches of the river. I uploaded a photo over on FB, but I can't figure out how to link to it while on the tablet, so curious folk will need to go looking on their own. The water was cold and deep between those lovely rock cliffs, and I was, once again, glad we found that full length wet suit at a second hand store this spring.

This morning (Monday) it was necessary to get up way too early to catch the 06:20 flight to southern Sweden to attend a geology conference in Uppsala. That flight got me on site just after 08:00, and the opening cermony was 09:00, so the timing was good, though now, during the after lunch talks, I find myself typing as I listen, in an attermpt to keep awake. I can check into my room anytime after 15:00, and am looking forward to it...
