We are currently enjoying a visit from
northernotter. She arrived yesterday and brought us three different amazingly yummy cheeses. One from a dairy local to her in Lofoten. Last year we tried their cow cheese when we were out that way doing tourist stuff, and it was so good we went back for more before leaving the island. Now I can report that their goat cheese is just as good.
She also brought a cheese with nettles in it that is lovely on its own, but I am curious to try it in a quiche.
And the third was her favorite brown cheese, which I agree is amazing. I love the caramelized cheeses--it is like eating caramel candy without the annoying sweetness.
I had baked some bread which came out of the oven just before her train arrived, so "dinner" was just bread and cheese with tea...
She also brought me some lovely garters she wove, so we will have something that will last, too. I have never had such welcome gifts from a visitor.
This morning I need to do some uni work, but this evening we will try to do some pattern fitting for her, so she can make some new costumes.
