a nice end to the week

This weeks progress report:

Work is going well, I have made good progress on a paper that should have been done before starting this job, I received some data from the mine (but only for surface samples, not drill hole data, which I will need to do 3D models), I got rid of some office furniture I don't need, creating more room in which to work, and I attended a couple of interesting presentations.

I have made a bit of progress on my new hood, some progress on the sprang project in progress, a bit of stitching on the dress in progress, and figured out a way to package up the sprang in progress to get it out of the middle of the living room so that we can have company this weekend.

Today lord_kjar had the day off (because he had been on call last week), so he took the opportunity to catch up on laundry--seven large loads! (We went fabric shopping last weekend and a fair few meters of linen and cotton followed us home--we always wash it before putting it away, so that it will be ready to sew when we are, but that much fabric made a huge difference in the size of the pile). He also did some housework. It was wonderful to come home to a house that is cleaner than I left it!

It was also nice to see all of the snow today--it snowed much of yesterday and last night, so this morning the trees were all lovely and white, and the ground has finally been covered deep enough to hide the grass. Now, if it will just last...

Now I need to put down the computer and do some baking for tomorrow. Reminder for anyone who is local, come on by my place tomorrow afternoon (ok, any time after 11:00) and I will feed you birthday cake.
