almond-pear tarts
Jun. 15th, 2011 01:33 pmI had a bit of left over pie crust dough from yesterday's pasties that needed baking, and several small pears that were ripe enough that it was a Good Idea (TM) to use them sooner rather than later. Therefore I tossed three small handfuls of almonds into the food processor, ground them, added the pears (minus the stem and seeds and the tiny bit of core holding the seeds in) and ground it some more. I then added enough milk to make the contents a bit creamy, and a couple of spoons of oat flour. I didn't see the need to add any sugar (the pears were plenty sweet) or spices, so I just put it as is into four tiny tart pans lined with the dough (flour-butter-egg-water-salt) and baked them for 20 to 30 minutes at 200 C. Yum! I am not normally a fan of cooked fruit, but I love puddings made of almonds and milk, and I am very happy with how these came out. I would make them again, should I have pears that need using...
