kareina: (BSE garnet)
Most of the past two days has been spent going through all of the pressure/temperature estimates I've obtained for my various rock samples, and selecting the ones which I feel best represent each region (or in some cases, the weighted mean average of several to be the regions representative). I've compiled all of this data into a single figure, showing the maximum pressure and temperature achieved for each region, and, for two of them (where the data exists), the pressure and temperature associated with the garnet cores. Armed with this information, at long last, I've started writing the accompanying text. Only 422 words in the body, and another 122 in figure captions thus far, but I'm pretty happy with what I've said to compare and contrast the very different histories of the southwest coast and middle of Tassie. Tomorrow I'll add the words for the regions for which I have only the maximum P/T info and then move into the "how this compares with previously published Tasmanian data" portion. With luck that will go fast, and I'll be able to progress into the all important "tectonic implications" section... Now that this hurdle is passed, I'm on what will be (mostly) a down-hill run to the end of the thesis. Here's hoping there are no major bumps in that path...
