Yesterday was a very productive day. I managed to work 10 hours on uni work, and kept email/live journal/blogs to under 2 hours. Makes my average hours per day for the month look pretty good! I managed to get chapter three (the second main reagion of Tassie I've been working on) done enough that I sent it off to my advisor this morning for comment. Now I need to check chapter four ("other parts of Tasmania besides the two main regions) quickly, to see if there is anything else there that needs doing (it has been months since I've looked at that one) and then focus on my discussions/conclusions chapter. I had hoped to be mostly done with that one by the end of January, but unless today is the 34th of the month, I didn't manage that goal.

This evening I've got my first phone interview for a post-doc position. From the e-mail, this is meant to just be a quick 15 minute check in with "all qualified applicants", and not a "we've narrowed the list down to just a couple of people and you are one of them", but even so, I am delighted that they are interviewing me. Sure, I thought I was qualified for the position when I sent in my application, but it feels good that that agree!
