yet another cool job prospect
Jan. 16th, 2009 09:26 pmI just applied for a post-doc position at the World's Northern Most University in the town of Tromsø, Norway. A comparison of the job advertizement with my CV shows a Very Good Match (TM) between what the position entails and what I've done in the way of research thus far. Needless to say, I am very excited about this one. It's in Norway! Far enough north that it won't rain in the winter! And they have mountains! (Remember that I loved the weather in Fairbanks, and the light, dry, fluffy snow that one can effortlessly sweep off of one's porch with a broom, but I hated how far away the mountains were.) The only draw back I can see is that the position is available now (though they aren't actually going to start evaluating the applications until the end of this month), and I'm not quite done with my thesis yet.
This makes several very good post-doc positions I've found to which to apply, any of which would make me very happy in terms of the research/work I'd get to do. What an exciting time, I can't really lose if one of them makes me an offer!
I guess I'd best quit bouncing about my job prospects and get back to work on the thesis!
