a different sort of distraction
Oct. 14th, 2008 08:40 pmThis morning I e-mailed a photographer friend of mine asking if she was interested in doing a photo of me that would be suitable for giving to the geology department to use in their gallery of photos, or to send along with an abstract when speaking at conferences where they want to include a photo of the speaker to help people remember which speaker is which. She replied saying that by coincidence she had her living room set up with lights and backdrop suitable for that kind of photo shoot today, but wanted to get it all packed up tomorrow before visitors arrived. So I dropped what I was doing and off I went, accompanied by
baronsnorri, who was nice enough to do the drive across town, giving me a chance to work on sewing whilst we were en route.
If any of you should ever need a photographer and happen to be in Tasmania when the need strikes, I strongly recommend Fiona! She also does weddings and special events, and I'm told is good with kids and pets too. I am one of those people who usually looks much cuter in the mirror than in photos, but she managed to get me four photos I liked enough to take home with me. Look, here's one of them now...
Now to catch up on the work I didn't get done whilst at the photo shoot!
