I spent today at Wildwood, the home of the beautiful [livejournal.com profile] madryn_1960. She, being the most wonderful person that she is, did much of the work assembling my new skirt for me. It is more than half way done, but we ran out of light, and decided that it would be better to take a break and return to it refreshed next week. She's asked me for the pattern, and having gone to the effort to draw it up in CorelDraw, I thought I'd share it here.

As fun as the day's sewing & visiting was, it did use up a big chunk of the day, and typing the above and making the drawings has used up a fair bit more, so now I guess I'd best do some uni work!

Good wishes for a very, very happy birthday to both [livejournal.com profile] corva and [livejournal.com profile] laurelyn22 and to a handful of other people who are terribly important to me but not on LJ, including one of my wonderful step-sisters and my first-love. It is, indeed an important day of the year, for it is the birthday of more people I know than any other day of they year, and they aren't just random folk, but very, very special people whom I hold dear!

I hope that they next year brings you each tasks you enjoy doing and much joy and many rewards! I hope that shall get to see you both in person before the calendar rolls around to your next natal day! I love you and wish all the best for you!

I knew when I made plans to spend the morning working on non-uni stuff that it would not be as productive of a work day as I should have. However, I got an even later start to work than anticipated (it is amazing how many little excuses one can find to not get to work when one likes it, I shudder to think how much easier it would be if I didn't like what I was doing!). So here it is, nearly midnight. I've done only 1 hour 51 minutes of "uni work" all day, yet I've still managed to write 524 words and reference three new figures/tables. When I said that yesterday's work had me set up and poised for some easy writing, I meant it! And there is still plenty of more words to follow for the other samples that were included in yesterday's set up. Now, if I can only actually work a full day tomorrow, I'll see some real progress...

Hope that those of you who have the time to spare for weekends off enjoy your weekend, I'll be busy...
