A beautiful night
Feb. 25th, 2008 08:13 amMuch of yesterday was spent getting uni work done. We did have some visitors around mid-day--the normal SCA archer/fighter Sunday practice was canceled due to rain (& snow on the mountain--and it is still "summer"), so a few folk randomly dropped in here--one to consult with the herald, and another to have some company while she worked on her sewing. They made for a nice break from the work, and it inspired me to finish replacing the waist-band on my favourite skirt (which had gotten quite old and worn-out) but before the last of the visitors left, I was back on the computer, hard at work again. As a result, I was sleepy early, and went to bed before 21:00 (it wasn't even full dark yet). But then sometime after 01:00 I woke up for a mid-night run to the loo, and didn't fall back to sleep, so I got up and went for a walk! After a couple of days of rainy & blustery weather (making it tough to believe that it isn't autumn yet), the night was gorgeous! The moon, not too far past being full, was very, very bright, the stars were lovely, and the mountain stood out in lovely relief against the night sky. After an hour loop around one of the local trails I came home and returned to sleep, and slept beautifully till morning!
