I understand about acclimating--years ago I lived in Atenveldt for a while, and eventually got to the point where I could handle the heat. I was a bit worried when I moved back to Oertha about how I'd do with the cold after a couple of years of alternating between summer temps and really, really hot temps. However, that was the year that Anchorage had a cold snap of -40 (it never gets that cold in Anchorage!) for two weeks. In November. After that, I was fine for the rest of the winter!
