notes from meeting with my advisor

kareinaI just met with my advisor and discussed what is left to do with my thesis, in order to achieve the goal of finishing by the end of May. Since I need to type up notes anyway, I'll put them here, so you all know I'm alive, but I've put it behind a cut so that only those of you who want to know will have to see it.
The final chapter will be written in three sections
1) summarize the results from the other chapters--selecting what I feel is the most appropriate pressure/temperature estimate from each region
2) compare these results with other published results for Tasmania. Relate my metamorphism to the timing of non-metamorphic events, such as the Mount Reed Volcanics and the Cambrian and Ordovician unconformities (find papers on those topics!!!)
3) overall Tectonics--compare my P/T/t paths with other regions, particularly the Western European Alps, which have similar rates back to the surface, but very different garnet zoning patterns (discuss my garnet zoning patterns and what they mean--particularly the part about not having much evidence for garnet growth during cooling). Also compare with the Moine and Dalradian (Scotland), particularly the late albititazation/Na enrichment.
He's thinking that 10 to not more than 20 pages should be enough for that chapter.
My to do list:
* Finish up chapter five edits and creating pdfs of final 26 figures today & get it to him
* start chapter six (final chapter) tomorrow & get him first draft +/- any figures ASAP
* go back an fill in holes (southern regional cartoon & whiteschist) in chapter 2, do the edits he suggested from last time he saw it, and create pdfs of 104 figures
* finish edits on chapter 4, add in the new data, and create pdfs for 19 figures
* do edits for chapter three (which he promises to give me tomorrow) and create pdfs for 30 figures.
* As soon as he gives me back comments for chapter 6 stop whatever else I'm doing and do the edits & create a draft abstract to turn in to the uni so that they can start the process of lining up the examiners
* finish up the edits for chapter 1, adding any information on previously published that didn't get included in the first draft, but is important to compare with my results. make pdfs of 4 figures.
* take photos of such samples as do not yet have them and add them to the collection of completed figures.
* do any final edits on any of the above as he suggests them
* write the final version of the abstract & acknowledgements
* print it & have it bound and turned in by end of May.
He tells me this is all possible. I believe him. But I'm not doing much else between now and the end of May...
