oops, too busy to post

I haven't had a chance to post lately, and, apparently, I haven't been reading, either, as I just scrolled down to the message "There are no earlier entries to display. This page displays only the most recent 1000 entries posted within the last 14 days.", which is something I didn't know would happen. Oops. So if you posted anything between my last post, on 21 March and 1 April, I probably haven't seen it. Call my attention to it, and I will read it.

So, the short form:

The road trip to Gotvik for their St. Egon event was super fun, as was the event itself, and the return trip.

Two busy weeks later we took a road trip to southern Finland for Drachenwald Crown Tourney, where Keldor and I were the only couple fighting for one another. There were seven fighters total. Part one of the tourney was round robin, best 2 of 3. I died gloriously to everyone, as one might expect of a fighter who has been in armour like three times since last Crown, and not much at all before that. However, I swung my sword at everyone, and everyone took more than one shot before they killed me, so I was pleased. Keldor and Wilhelm tied for fourth place after part one, so they had one, single bout, fight to determine which of them went to Semi's and Keldor took it. Then there was a four person round-robin, also best 2 of 3, starting with a clean slate to determine the two finalists (best 3 of 5), and Krake took the tournament, which didn't exactly surprise anyone who has been watching his training journey towards this event. I haven't watched it yet, but he's put the tourney online, if you want to see it. Other highlights from that trip include Birittha's Laureling, and seeing so many friends.

Then we came home and threw ourselves on the last of the event preparations for Reengarda's 30th Anniversary event (also known as Reengarda XXX). The event was so much fun! We had had 60 people registered, and we got a total of seven last minute health-related cancellations, and a couple of people from the waiting list joined. We had games and contests, and fun. There were five totally new people who were all delightful to meet. Hildegard says she wishes she had found us a decade ago, to which we replied, welcome home.

Their Majesties gave many very well deserved awards, and I went home from the event in a very good mood, but also very, very tired from running on low sleep for a couple of weeks. Our head event steward got sick on Sunday, with very swollen tonsils. Now, a couple of days later I am feeling a little off, and some swelling in the back of my throat. I have just had some warm ecchinica tea, and will head to bed soon, in hopes that it doesn't get any worse.

I had forgotten that the reading page only goes back 14 days, and in fact just checked that paid accounts don't get to look further back than free accounts. Apparently if I'm looking further back, it's either in my own journal, or a specific other person. Also, I'm apparently following a lot of accounts that post frequently, including things like the Astronomy Picture of the Day RSS feed.

[Life is weird right now, and things like the above don't take a lot of focus.]
