nothing left but the finishing

Now I have added to my thesis even the final section showing the SEM images I made back in 2018, a surprising number of which images include all or part of the crystals that were laser maps. In all of those cases I have put a square around the analysed area and added a thumbnail photo of the laser results to compare. If there is time when everything else is done, I can go back and add pointers to the SEM photos in the laser chapter.

This means my thesis is basically complete, with every section I intend to include containing not only a title, but information. There is still a fair bit of clean-up to do, expanding on rough (often highlighted) notes about what I planned to say, but there are no remaining gaping holes in the structure. Given that today is two weeks from my deadline to submit without paying fees for next term, I am pretty pleased to have achieved this milestone.

As Keldor says it is "typ fardig" .

edited to add:

front matter word count 2,213

thesis word count 54,835

caption word count 17,934

reference word count 4,774

appendix word count 308

total Word Count   80,064

The word total for a MPhil at Durham is 60,000 words, so I am pretty close to target. While there are some words to add in some sections, there are also likely places where I have needlessly repeated myself.
