officially accepted

The paper for which I am listed as the second author has been officially accepted ! Therefore look for "Petrology of the eclogites from western Tasmania: Insights into the Cambro-Ordovician evolution of the paleo-Pacific margin of Gondwana" to show up in the journal Lithos sometime soon...

Congrats!!! That's fantastic (and well-deserved) news!

Thanks!

Now I need to get my own research written up so that I can get paper(s) out there with my name first...

Go you!

Congratulations. I'm having flashbacks to the night Dad came home crying, "I've arrived, I'm a FOOTNOTE!" because someone cited one of his articles in one of their articles in some literary journal.

I'm sure it would go right over my head--though I am really interested in geology. I took a *lot* of geology classes in college, but that was long ago and far away.

Yay you!
Good show!

lol! Large portions of that article go over my head! My own research has to do with a very different rock type than that article discusses, so I don't have the background for some of the technical details we cover--it was my responsibility to write up the "field relations", since I collected the samples and the other authors haven't been to Tasmania and don't know the area.

However, as the only native-English speaker in the author list, I had to do some serious edits to all of the paper, not just my portion, which was, occasionally a bit of a challenge trying to figure out what they meant to say when I know so little about eclogite as a rock type.
